Onbesli cup was formed as a commemoration for one of our first Onbeslis, Riyad, a boy who possessed the qualities of strength, dedication and humility – traits we continue to foster in our youth at Maydaan today.
Targets & Divisions
All the information you need before you compete
Malaysian Target
Shoot at a target face divided into seven numbered zones, with each zone's number indicating the points awarded when hit.
3D Targets
Onbesli: Sprint 40m, take on seven 3D targets arranged in a semi-circle, then race back to the line!
Junior Onbesli & Cubs: Shoot at life-sized animal targets placed at various distances.
Zhamby
Shoot at a 20cm hanging gold medallion. Each arrow hit on this dancing target awards five points!
Onbesli Division
Ages 15-17
Malaysian Target: 5 rounds of 5 arrows at 30m
Zhamby: 5 round of 5 arrows at 20m
3D Sprint Round
Junior Onbesli Division
Ages 11-14
Malaysian Target: 5 rounds of 5 arrows at 20m
Zhamby: 5 round of 5 arrows at 15m
1 arrow 3D round
Cub Division
Ages 7-10
Malaysian Target: 5 rounds of 5 arrows at 10m
Zhamby: 5 round of 3 arrows at 8m
1 arrow 3D round
Equipment Guidelines
Please ensure all competitors read guidelines well ahead of competition date to ensure preparedness!
- Traditional bow with no shelf
- Matching set of 5 carbon arrows
- Extra arrows in case of breakage
- Arrows clearly labelled with names
- Onbesli & Junior Onbeslis must have their own equipment to compete
- Cubs are allowed to borrow equipment
- Recurve, compound & other modern bows
- Bows with shelf for Junior Onbesli & Onbesli Divisions
- Mismatched and unlabelled set of arrows
- Equipment borrowing for Junior Onbesli & Onbesli Divisions
- Arrows are not to be shared amongst multiple children
